Farrell Malone is an Associate in the Antitrust/Competition practice group. His practice focuses on antitrust matters, including the antitrust review of mergers and acquisitions by the US Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and the European Commission; criminal investigations; counseling clients in antitrust investigations of various business practices; and civil antitrust litigation. Mr. Malone has represented clients in a broad array of industries, including consumer goods and retail, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals and health care, insurance, chemicals and plastics, minerals and mining, finance and banking, building materials, media and broadcasting, technology, and transportation. From 2009-2011, Mr. Malone was based in Brussels, Belgium as an associate in the antitrust group of another international law firm, where he advised clients on various EU antitrust issues, with particular emphasis on the review of mergers and acquisitions under the EU Merger Regulation. Mr. Malone has published articles analyzing the antitrust laws in the Journal of Competition Law & Economics and the ABA’s Antitrust Source and Antitrust Magazine. He has contributed to various antitrust treatises, including the ABA’s Antitrust Law Developments and European Merger Control Law: A Guide to the Merger Regulation. Mr. Malone earned a Masters degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2004, where his academic research focused on industrial organization and applied microeconomics.
