Kate M. Growley is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Crowell & Moring, where she is a member of the firm’s Privacy & Cybersecurity, Government Contracts, and Litigation groups. Kate’s practice focuses on the intersection between national security and private industry, with particular experience in cybersecurity, privacy, and their evolving legal landscape, on which she is a frequent author and speaker.
Her counseling in these and other areas has helped clients from the defense, technology, transportation, security, aviation, healthcare, retail, and education industries, among others. Kate’s frequent participation in the ABA, particularly as vice-chair of the Science & Technology (SciTech) Section Homeland Security Committee, further hones these skills. Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Kate received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where her studies focused on national security. Before then, Kate graduated first in her class from Florida State University, summa cum laude with Honors.
