Dr. Sun specializes in economic analysis in antitrust and regulatory matters. He has conducted economic analysis for antitrust review of both horizontal and vertical mergers before the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, Canadian Bureau of Competition, and China’s Ministry of Commerce. He has also worked on econometric models for estimation of damages in a number of price fixing cases, and has provided quantitative analysis in some abuse of dominance cases, including those involving bundled discounts, exclusionary practices and the licensing of patents. Dr. Sun has written extensively on antitrust issues, particularly those pertaining to China. His English writings have appeared in publications such as the Antitrust Law Journal, Journal of Competition Law and Economics, CPI Antitrust Chronicle, and various newsletters. He also contributed chapters to several books including Econometrics: Legal, Practical and Technical Issues (Second Edition), Market Power Handbook: Competition Law and Economic Foundation (First Edition), Antitrust Law and Economics of Product Distribution, and Policy Reform and Chinese Markets: Progress and Challenges. He was among the main drafters of commentaries on several Chinese antitrust regulations on behalf of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section and International Section. His Chinese writings have appeared in several Chinese journals and magazines, and on some Chinese web sites. While at the University of Michigan, Dr. Sun taught economics at both the undergraduate level and the MBA level. He has also taught antitrust economics in a summer course at Renmin University of China. Dr. Sun is a Senior Editor of the Antitrust Law Journal, an associate member of the ABA Antitrust Section and International Section, a member of the American Economic Association, and a member of the Chinese Economists Society.
